Sampling on late growing season for FUN-URB Proj @wslresearch.bsky.social completed. With autumn arriving in Uppsala, the city’s trees and leaves look very different.

How does urbanisation shape diversity and function of microbial communities on their leaves?

I have played Fungi by pegasus spiele and it is very fun. I recommend it 🍄🍄

Just realized how many fossils cover the floors at Arlanda Airport

The Öland limestone from the Ordovician and contain plenty of straight-shelled nautiloids. Not an expert, Orthoceras?

If you're passing through, don't miss it. They're hard to miss once you notice them

Hackathon @methodsinecoevol.bsky.social completed 🧑‍💻 Amazing to share with so many people in such a unique environment

We’ve been testing whether published data/code are truly reproducible. +1200 papers reviewed. Now waiting for the results 👀 and hoping it helps move towards a more open science

Hi Danny, can I be added to the Mycologist Starter Pack?

First autumn in Sweden 🍂 and I’m really enjoying the forest and the wide variety of mushroom (“svamp” in Swedish) species it hosts this time of year 🍄

It was a very interesting webinar explaining how they use individual-based models to simulate these population dynamics. Thank you to Dr. Rémi Fay and the organizers

“…when organisms interact can largely determine how they interact.”

#Viewpoint: Is it all about timing? Identifying the symbiosis critical points that govern interactions among #bacteria, ectomycorrhizal #fungi, and land #trees

Mechanisms that potentially contribute to the maintenance of interactions between bacteria, ectomycorrhizal fungi (EcMF), and land trees across varied developmental periods.

It has been an incredible few days, sharing science, having fun together and enjoying a lot of activities 🚣‍♀️🍻🎯🍄😶‍🌫️🎉 I have recently landed in this department and I can't be happier with such a great team. tack

The Department at the lovely Friibergs Herrgård, combining work and fun in the best way! The program included research presentations, discussions on research ethics, presentations of new large research programs as well as calming painting exercises. #AcademicLife #ResearchRetreat

Having fun with the FUN-URB proj, riding around Uppsala looking for native and non-native trees to examine the diversity patterns of foliar endophytic fungi on trees along urbanization gradients across Europe @wslresearch.bsky.social @mycopat.bsky.social

This afternoon we will be presenting our poster on spatio-temporal trends of airborne pathogenic spores in Sweden at #efpp2025

10 years of continuous sampling will allow us to see how the presence of airborne pathogenic spores is related to climate change and what trends we can expect in the future

Figure based on keywords found by AI in the titles of the plenary and concurrent sessions, and the posters detailed in the program

From @mycopat.bsky.social we’ll be there bringing a few things to the table!📋😀

Threats from fungal diseases that attack pine and spruce are growing with climate change. But why are some trees more severely affected than others? Matilda Stein Åslund has investigated this in her thesis to help preserve our forests in the ongoing climate change.

very test version...

Was there a package to do so?

This week is the time to change the spore traps in SLU Grimsö forskningstation located >250km north of Tönnersjöheden in Sweden. Grimsö is close to the border of the subartic climate, allowing the study of differences in fungal communities across a broad climatic gradient

Last week I had the opportunity to visit the SLU Tönnersjöhedens försökspark in south-Sweden and the spore traps I've started working with at @mycopat.bsky.social These traps have been active for more than 10 years and have been sampled weekly, resulting in an exceptional airborne spore db
