I don't think this science communication resource gets enough love.

OpenMoji offers 4,000+ free, #opensource emojis (CC BY-SA 4.0), with categories for healthcare, climate, UI...

Challenge: find Greta Thunberg and a Viennese coffee house. ☕

Went out for a long run at 3 pm hoping to beat the dark. Took this photo at 3:30. You can guess if I made it.

Who gets to teach about #OpenScience, and who learns? With our new workshop plan, we want to flip the script.

Grateful to co-lead the creation of the plan (V1 👀) with @nscorralfrias.bsky.social & our amazing @abrir.bsky.social team

Got my #DataRescueProject 🛟 stickers at #IDW2025, so they've made their way to Serbia. Still deciding where to stick them, the universal struggle...

Sticker haul from the International Data Week #IDW2025. And no, I definitely didn't take more than one of each. 👀

Rigor, Inclusivity, Transparency, & Accessibility (RITA - appreciate the acronym Prof. Gerard created!), the four principles to make evidence synthesis more useful for policy, are from doi.org/10.1038/d415... (🔓 scispace.com/pdf/four-pri...). #IDW2025

The old code (L) from a year ago doesn't produce a plot with transparent background anymore. Since I used bg='transparent' in ggsave() I wasn't sure why... I ended up adapting theme() (www.r-bloggers.com/2022/07/ggpl...) and it works now (code on the R). Why is bg='transparent' not enough? #RStats

Fascinating findings! They give context to what we observed in online media coverage of alternative medicine (doi.org/10.1525/coll...). Over half the articles used pseudoscientific jargon and vague claims to mimic scientific authority. Jargon can be a powerful tool for persuasive nonsense.

PhD dissertation officially submitted! ☀️

It was evaluated before the defense, as is the process here, and I'm happy to share I passed with no corrections!

Next: 30-day public review and a few more formal steps before defending this fall.

Just saw my Open Research Week #ORW2025 slides hit 1,596 views on Zenodo, which is more than any of my uploads, even our #REPOPSI paper from 4 years ago. Nice to see the interest, & thanks again to @ljmuresearch.bsky.social for the chance to share the work!

From @wviechtb.bsky.social talk @ #ESMARConf2025 on showing heterogeneity in meta-analysis. Learned that 95% prediction interval can be visualized in a {metafor} forest plot using predictive distributions. I find it especially useful for illustrating subgroup differences! #RStats

It's backed-up by research!

Just remembered I started working on a new website with a Hugo theme ages ago. Checked it today and it turns out it's live (😱!) but I only update my name. So I've unintentionally been out there posing as:

Just submitted my PhD dissertation to the committee: 50,000 words, 150 pages, and built around three published papers. It'll be a while before the defense, but I'm celebrating the milestone today 🌟 #PhDLife #PhDAlmostDone
