Very excited (and a bit nervous) to announce that I will be hiring two Postdocs for my new group(!) in Copenhagen to study the Neanderthal and Denisovan DNA which survives in present-day humans. Retweet will be much appreciated :)

ooh, i was just thinking about this 🧪 meme!

here's my contribution for zooarchaeology papers 🏺🦴
meme format showing the "Types of zooarchaeology papers" with a row of 12 papers

1: A new theory about domestication?
2. Sharing is caring: hte butchery and distribution of animal carcasses in XYZ
3. How these bones got here is really cool! Statistics prove it
4. Contra Smith 1980, these bones are worthless due to taphonomy
5. Read this, it's about ancient Cliimate change (with a confusing graph)
6. We studied so many bones. They tell us new things about animal-human interactions. Bonus: can you guess our methods?
7. Big data paper: bones from hundreds of published sites reveal nothing new, or not!?
8. Ancient DNA answers all! Come at me bone people! (image shows many different colored arrows on a map)
9. Geometric morphometrics show subtle tooth variation in animal populations. Better than measurements, cheaper than DNA!
10. Ritual treatment of bones is just weird
11. BREAKING: Animals ate food and moved around. We studied so many isooptes from one tooth
12. Integrate bones with other evidence to magically answer all! (fig: multivariate stats combine all your data. Sit back and watch)
