One thing you can do Right Now is be extremely vocal when you have librarians stocking inclusive collections. Call and tell them how happy you are, show up to board meetings. Bc the other side is *always* complaining and doing it in an organized way.

“After library officials resisted, the DOJ officials departed without resolving the conflict.”

One of those sentences that tells you who and where we are as a country in 2025: librarians are braver than law firms and CEOs.

OMGGGG does this lady even have a clue what is IN the Library of Congress???? It’s not just a random library with books for children. It is so much more than that. No one should take what she’s saying seriously.
Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

Dr. Carla Hayden is a people's librarian.

Her term goes until 2026 and should remain that way.

Don't comply with unjust laws and practices.

This is terrible
My only interaction w/ Dr. Hayden was a few yrs ago, when I moderated a panel on which she spoke — but she appointed me Kluge Chair of Modern Culture at the LoC this year. My interactions with LoC staff indicate that she — one of few *librarians* appointed to the role — was deeply appreciated 💔
