New media artist, programmer, immigrant, PTSD, on the spectrum, Southeast Asianist, and lazy. Let's grab a coffee if you in Stockholm.

I want a new job in something cool and fun and can pay my mortgage. Hire me please! ❤️
no idea if building a dynamic pymc model is a good idea but i guess the only way to find out is to do it and see what happens.

sometimes i wonder where i learnt to make hard decisions and remember, oh yeah, i used to sit with politicians and noted their hubris and ability to ignore all evidence. hey, it's really effective. don't knock it till you try it. 😂

progressing on a wildly ambitious idea. asked around, figured nobody works on this because it's way too difficult to bring this to a stage where there's commercial value.

that's from a business point of view. but i'm an artist. i found a way forward through art. lol.

about to deploy an mvp that helps undocumented homeless poor people find temporary accommodation. i will put this in my cv as "impact investing". 😂

my latest project is mad. best case scenario if it works is everyone gets to leverage bayesian probability without needing to know maths. worst case, it becomes a be-careful-what-you-wish-for nightmare. most realistic case, nobody uses it.

Trying to start a cult but I hate turtlenecks ☹️

listening to wicked and keep hearing "like a shit dropped by a skybird". hm. actually a likely scenario.

I really miss hopping out on the street to buy cheap food anywhere any time day or night in Asia. But I also know the true price is paid by the hawkers who work to their bones to serve us that convenience. So. Sad.

Watching the far right grow in Sweden and the EU and thinking I should probably put together a go bag and an escape plan. 🇸🇪🇪🇺😔

Vibe coding with the agent on a tight leash. Feels nice to exploit the LLMs of evil companies to quickly build a platform that helps undocumented migrants to find homes in a secure way.

Simply by accident of birth am I not in their plight. 😔

starting a whole discussion centred on ethics about which libraries and ci/cd platforms to use in our software stack. lol. life is so complicated omg.

Researchers were able to use Shiitake mycelium as computer memory.
Can't wait for them to try using Psilocybe semilanceata mycelium.

Neuromorphic computing, inspired by the structure of the brain, offers advantages in parallel processing, memory storage, and energy efficiency. However, current semiconductor-based neuromorphic chips...

"You can usefully think of y=log(x) as assigning to y the order of magnitude of x. The function x=exp(y) is the reverse, turning a magnitude into a value. These definitions will make a mathematician shriek. But much of our computational work relies only on these intuitions."

At a time when Singapore did not value its own history, Miksic and his colleagues bought artefacts that were going to be trashed from workers at construction sites. He saved Singapore's past and fundamentally changed the way we understood it. Rest well, Pak.

what a nice diagram. thoroughly enjoying this book by mcelreath even if i wish he were more explicit about stuff. using an llm and the accompanying ipynbs to break down and double-check what he says a lot.

Early Botanists of Thailand. You have to ask why the first Thai name pops up only in 1923 and then remains the only one for a while. Not an unfamiliar pattern. We know nothing about and too often forget Ali and other locals so instrumental to Wallace's fame.

texts place a lot of importance on the shape of a posterior probability graph because it summarizes the data (or an interpretation of it). but this is useful only because we have working eyeballs and can look down on a 2d plane from 3d meatspace. there is a sensuousness to maths like a dorsal curve.

we went to the royal museum of ugly babies in brussels and learnt that this is how women breastfeed. by squirting milk all over the child's face. even the peacock flying by is like, what the hell?

ok i have to admit, belgian waffles are extra good. turns out they are made with brioche dough and yeast. clever.
September 27, 2025 at 9:14 PM
other people come to belgium for waffles and chocolate. i go straight for the museum that has had to reckon with the unhinged brutality of the belgian colonisers.
