At most SF/F cons there are folks lobbying for their city to win a bid to host a future WorldCon. After this year's WorldCon in Los Angeles, it moves to Montreal in 2027. After that almost all the bids for the next several years are not in the US.
I wonder why?

While the Trump administration is trying to subvert free and fair elections in the US, my Congressman, Darin LaHood (R IL 16th), is working hard to ensure free and fair elections...in Lebanon. I'm sure Congressman LaHood will vote "aye" on the SAVE Act.
LaHood has forgotten the face of his father.

Trump at National Prayer Breakfast: "They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I needed it for my own ego. I would've had a bad ego for the rest of my life. Now I really have a big ego. Beating these lunatics was incredible ... The first time they said I didn't win the popular vote. I did"

The Washington Post is getting rid of its Books section. We’re losing the institutions—journalism, middle-class artistic and intellectual culture—that once made life bearable. Those things were a threat to the super-rich who increasingly govern us. Democracy dies in illiteracy.

Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)
