In February, I attended #ECtHR Grand Chamber hearings in three #EU-Belarus border cases involving alleged “migrant #instrumentalisation”. In my latest piece for @verfassungsblog.de I show why #Latvian, #Lithuanian & #Polish arguments cannot justify any derogations from #asylum seekers' rights.

The ECtHR recently heard three cases involving pushbacks in the context of Belarus' alleged migrant instrumentalisation.

ALEKSANDRA ANCITE-JEPIFÁNOVA on why the Court must resist the attempt to undermine the Convention’s human rights protections in this context.

📢My latest paper on the EU-#Belarus border crisis is now available open access in the AVANT journal.

It compares LV, LT and PL approaches, critically engages with the migrant #instrumentalisation paradigm, and explores the EU-level response to the crisis.

🚨Pleased to share my latest paper on the 🇪🇺-Belarus border crisis, which compares LV, LT and PL responses to the perceived ‘migrant #instrumentalisation’. It combines legal analysis & interviews with volunteers, lawyers, and ∼40 non-EU nationals, predominantly from #Iraq.
