Indeed: together with tackling the connection between workforce inequality and healthcare inequity. Until we start tackling discrimination, we won’t resolve attrition and patients & service users won’t get safe and better care. This should concern us all.

Good to see this. I hope the debate includes discussion of why racism in recruitment, selection and assessment is not being addressed. (Data, inc my own research, shows no real improvement in the past 5 years). Workforce composition directly affects patient experience & outcomes.

‘Woke’ predates even Leadbelly song - Scottsboro Boys of the 1930’s. To be Woke - recalls Christ called us all into leadership & in Gospel reminds followers to stay awake for the times coming. Which is fabulously exemplified by Treks Admiral Michael Burnham - who kicked me awake!

Again similar: Lord Victor Adebowale talked about the failure to diagnose his mum an ex nurse with lung cancer until she had passed. My late mum also ex-nurse smoker for nearly 70 years) S. Devon spent over a year denying lung cancer & EastSurrey diagnosed her advanced Pancoast Tumour in 20mins!
