Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

Retired doctor Jennifer Black with the group Doctors Defending Democracy said members of the group who work for Legacy have shared concerns about ICE officers being allowed access to patients without a lawyer present and violating patient privacy laws.

100 or so people at a protest starting outside Legacy Emmanuel Hospital on N. Vancouver in northeast Portland. Event organized by PDXCD Portland Contra las Deportaciones to protest the hospital being “the go-to hospital to bring detainees injured during their arrests due to ICE violence.”

A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.

Feds have repeatedly claimed 115+ federal police (25% of force) had to be deployed to Portland over the summer to quell violence. Oregon lawyers found on discovery this was not true and are asking 9th Circuit to reverse Monday decision because feds lied:

Among arguments Portland Police Chief Bob Day has made against Trump’s attempted Guard deployment (and Noem claim that PPB can’t do enough to protect ICE facility) is that PPB has reciprocity agreements with nearby cities.Today, Hillsboro police are helping with crowd control at Portland No Kings.

In downtown Portland, Unpresidented Brass Band is out in big numbers in their banana suits. Since their clarinet player was arrested at the ICE facility in Portland Sunday the band is “more resolute, actually, at this point, I think, than we were before,” said founder Miles Thompson.
