Like some other American millennials, the 1994 world cup was my introduction to soccer. Then really started watching but didn't really understand the competitions during high school afternoons doing homework while watching the champions league. Pre Wikipedia.

But even within the mountain areas, it can be a couple hours between venues. Need more time and money to do more than maybe 1 or 2 events per day

Staying on hotel points at a place in the mountains but otherwise getting there from Venice or something would be super long days

For this, we zeroed in on going to the mountain clusters with Milan being a longer drive away & more of the expensive, harder to get tickets for other than hockey. Wasn't expecting by now that the opening ceremony (at least as of last week) wouldn't even be sold out

Friends spent about a week in Paris for 24. Was wanting to go but not really in the position to and when they were doing advance planning, Paris in August sounded less than ideal in the best of conditions

Paid in state tuition at ole miss in the early 2000s from a theatre design scholarship for a few years then from being in band, along with some other academic scholarships. Not a full ride but as cheap as it could have been for me
