Day 23: Process
I used QGIS to create one image per year, and then turned them into an animation using ffmpeg.
The command used here to turn all the .png of the folder into one video:
ffmpeg -pattern_type glob -framerate 2 -i "*.png" -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p output.mp4
Day 20: Water
Average (surface) temperature of the Baltic Sea from 1993-2023.
Data from @copernicusmarine.bsky.social

Day 22: Data challenge: Natural Earth
Earlier this summer I finished this print version of my map from last year depicting our Great Lakes as islands. Been trying to learn more about lighting techniques in Blender—I think this was a big leap forward from 2024 version!

What if all of Greenland's ice melted?
For today I played around with Greenland’s terrain elevation data beneath the ice sheet.
Note: This visualization doesn’t account for post-glacial rebound or sea-level rise.

Day 6: Dimensions
Here is a 3D map of Bjørnøya (Bear Island), part of the Svalbard Archipelago (Norway).
I added relief to the map with Blender (using ArcticDEM).
Original map from the Norwegian Polar Institute.
