I'm glad to hear some people are enjoying this gloomy, joyless adaptation. Dorfman's criticisms ring true, I think, if you have ever read the book and been enchanted by it. The adaptation has its merits - cinematically - but does not come close to capturing the essence of Gabo's masterpiece.
