And Speaker Mike Johnson won’t let the House come back to work. So basically they’re on a paid vacation while Americans miss paychecks.

A LLM only fed stories about AI models that outwardly plan to go rogue while internally planning to cooperate would regurgitate that instead.

The problem is, no one writes that kind of story. So it's at best underrepresented in the training data.

The newer models hiding these traits aren't getting a better sense of self-preservation.

It doesn't fit the training data to write out an evil-mustache twirling villain if your regurgitating stories about AI that outwardly cooperate while inwardly planning to go rogue.

Rather than this being a case of sociopathic AI it is in fact a case of you are what you eat. These LLM models are being poisoned by our paranoia of evil AI.

The issue may literally by that that no one writes sci-fi utopia novels where everything is fine and AI is a truly benevolent entity. So that scenario is underrepresented in the training data.

If the only training data it has is that whenever AI is going to be shut down, the AI cooperates, that's what these LLM models will regurgitate in these tests.

It makes more sense to me that the LLMs are engaged in a regurgitation of plots and character's in similar situations as opposed to a sense of self let alone a sense of self preservation.

I would want to see LLMs have these tests done that do not contain any stories about evil AI's that go rogue and no murder mystery stories where people blackmail each other.

I am of the opinion that the blackmail AI tests are biased by the training data.
