The main aliens were just a little too much [various things go here] plus nowhere near as interesting as the Tines (although in fairness, who is?), the knife thing reappearing suddenly seemed like TMI, & I fundamentally disagreed that the insoluble problem with augmented collab was insoluble.

Means testing costs money.

It makes conservatives feel like they are preventing abuse (benefits going to the "wrong sort"?), while also codifying abuse (questioning people's need, excluding people with needs from the benefit).

The cheapest way to provide benefits is not to means-test them.
