Stories are a lever to move the world
I'm on line with Microsoft Support. Apparently their policy is that an organization can add me on Teams and I have to ask their administrator for permission to leave it. So for example, the KKK can add you to their organization on Teams and then refuse to let you leave. That seems nonoptimal.

Windows really obstructs removing dead work accounts. I have a Comp Sci degree. I feel like it should take me less than an hour and ten helpful websites to figure out how to delete the accounts, reset apps and scrub the files. Gaaah.

Oddly, the word for "fox" is completely different in the major Romance languages:

French: reynard
Italian: volpe
Spanish: zorro
Portuguese: raposa

Even Catalan: guineu

You usually see more cognates.

Sly little fellers, huh.

(My maternal grandfather's name was Fuchs, so I feel an affinity.)

I had forgotten that Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein when she and her friends were all cooped up indoors in Geneva during a lethally cold summer caused by a massive volcanic eruption. (1816 was "the year without a summer.")

Folks like to diss Canadian health care, especially Americans who have never used it, but I cracked my ribs last night, made an appointment for this morning, saw a doctor AND got an X-ray in 1 hour and 24 minutes, and the only thing I had to pay was the parking meter.

Balzac used to say "there goes another novel" after making love. But I do look at some of these games I've played 400 hours of, and wondered what I could have written in 10 weeks.

One thing I like about the comics we are making for Fragpunk is that yes, we're having fun with unorthodox storytelling, but we get to it because the stories needed it, not because we thought it would be cool or we're trying to be clever for it's own sake.

I really want my Roomba (it's actually a Eufy) to intone "job done!" when it's done.

Really wish #SaturdayNightLive would skip the Trump impersonation in the cold opens. It's the same joke over and over, every night. Saturday's mayoral debate cold open was hilarious until James Austin Johnson showed up.

The airline wouldn't let us check into our flight online, but there's an exploit: you can check in at the City Airport Train depot at the Wien Mitte railroad station in Vienna.
