Our best-selling book celebrates diversity & explains evolutionary adaptations along with messages on conservation & respecting difference, in a fun way.

Worth a look if you think your kids (ages 4-9) will enjoy learning about interesting animal characters that stand out for their weirdness.

A lot of the ideas, animal stories & science in the new Nat Geo #Underdogs series are identical to what’s featured in one of my science books, “Funny Bums, Freaky Beaks”.

I wonder where they got the idea from…? 👀

There’s a lot more in our original best selling book though.

They are also available online in all the usual places.

If you’re looking for kids gift book ideas, this one of ours, for 4-7s, is popular.

“Winter Sleep: A Hibernation Story” is both a cosy natural history story and a non-fiction science book.

Keep your eyes out for a truly incredible sight if you are on the south coast near Poole in coming weeks.

People have been spotting a pair of White-tailed Eagles! Her partner was sat in a nearby tree.

Look out for them flying low over the water, hunting for gulls.

Found a lovely ancient meadow splashed in pink pyramidal orchids. 💕

Have you seen any wild orchids this year?

Bat groups do important monitoring, research, rescue, give advice, talks, training, do field visits, share knowledge & support bat conservation.

To find your local bat group look on Facebook or head to the Bat Conservation Trust website.

Avon Bat Group members have been checking Bristol roost boxes.

This is an activity that adults & children can join in with - it gets you outside in lovely woodlands and the records help conservation.

You don’t need experience, you do need to be with a licensed person.

Our science book, Busy Spring, made it onto the Children’s Book Magazine list of top nature titles.

And it won the most innovative non fiction book of the year award, chosen by 400 #kidlit judges.

That’s a little win for spreading more interest in ecology & conservation. 🌱🌎

❤️ Helping to share some resources for resistance!
Here are some lovely dual language books to help raise multilingual kids.

I see there’s been yet another dim witted & racist 🇺🇸 Executive Order. But native American & other cultures will not be erased. ✊

It may look like a soggy queen bumblebee needs help if she is resting but this is normal behaviour - it’s best to leave her be, unless she is in danger of being squished - then just move her gently to somewhere sheltered or near /on flowers.
