If Cyberrats in Space gets 100 followers on the pre-launch, I will do a Q&A stream in my worst Mickey Mouse impression (just my normal voice)

Okay so quick analysis here, with the disclaimer that I know NOTHING about this and it's all educated speculation based on my TMNT fandom, haha.

We're probably looking at an original iteration of TMNT for this set, using a hodge-podge of the iconic stuff from throughout the series history.

I love that itch lets you make some files free ("demos"). Great for character sheets, handouts, and the like!

The Fabelmans was great. One of the best movies I've seen this year.

But

I think it would have been improved by cutting all the scenes with the monkey.

I'm running two scary games this month, both open to all!

First is The Winter Door (online)

Second is Ten Candles (in person, open to any in the Seattle area!)

Still have spots left for both, drop me a line if interested!

Oh for sure, I don't want to undersell the script nor the acting. It's an easy movie to do wrong, and they avoided many traps here!
alexrineh.art
How do you take a script that's mostly people talking and make it interesting? Either business or stakes. This film utilizes both, as well as some fascinating visuals. The hallway sattelite scene is inspired work!

Tonight's movie: Steve Jobs. Some phenomenal choices by director Danny Boyle, and the script neatly avoids the issue many biopics have, where the tension and reality diverge to become uninteresting or fizzle out. The movie ends when the tension does, at effectively a random point.

tech companies blatantly ignoring user consent, exhibit #6379:
Email screenshot:

We’re always working to make Gemini more helpful and easier to use, so we’re
simplifying your Gemini app experience to automatically include publicly available
data from YouTube, Google Maps, Google Flights, and Google Hotels.
This means you will no longer have to manage individual app settings for Gemini to get
the most current and relevant public results for your prompts—such as up-to-the-minute flight prices, helpful video summaries, or local hotel details. As such, you will no longer
see individual Apps settings for these particular services. This new experience will
begin rolling out to all users, including those who had previously turned the settings off
for these services, on October 13.

(The last sentence is highlighted)

I had to put down this vampire book.

The plot was too cryptic
I wanted something in a different vein
It wasn't bloody good enough
It started to Drac halfway through
The stakes were too low
It just plain sucked
It wasn't a book I could sink my teeth into.
Really, I just wasn't Stoked to read it

I tripped over my dog in the night because he switched from the summer sprawl to the warm winter ball, and his limbs weren't where I expected them to be

It's not good for ducks to eat bread.

If a business asks you to round up to donate, you get to claim that as a tax deduction, not them.

Third misconception.

There are 4 reasons Cyberrats uses basebuilding.
1. I like it and want to see more of it
2. XCOM does it, and I wanted to emulate it
3. It's a communal resource that encourages sharing of resources and planning
4. It lets us gate mechanics and complexity

I have a really hard time imagining a TTRPG campaign or system that *isn't* improved by the PCs having some kind of (in Told by Wild Words lingo) shared asset.

This might be a vehicle like a ship (sea- or space-faring), a home base or town, or a faction they belong to or command.

RA. This is the heaviest of the ones we played, and it's got some pleasant crunch! Where QE is a mix of bluffing and auctioning, this one is PURE auctioning, and it's just a delight. You can trick other people into overpaying for things they need, or underbid for things that hurt others more.
alexrineh.art
QE. I loved this one. It's a simple auction game, all complexities stripped away. You can bid any number, and all bids are secret, except to the winner and the (rotating) judge. The catch? Whoever bids the most money at the end of the game is eliminated!

Played 3 new (to me) board games this weekend!

Spicy (2020)
QE (2019) and
Ra (1999)

Spicy mixes BS Skull. Very light, and I'm not sure it's a great fit for my table, but it's a fun little bluffing game. Personally, I don't think it will come out SUPER often, but I could see some groups loving it.

Sometimes I set my nook down and walk away until the screen sleeps. There's no way to reset the time per page metric, so it thinks it takes me an average of 9 minutes to read a single page.
