The players selected between pregens or lightning round chargen. The premise: they're heading to a swamp planet floating science facility/stop over point deep in the ruralia of this watery world.

Everyone had a great time at the ChangedStars session! They got away with the samples, the chip, AND the doctor - leaving the antagonists to fight eachother.

I find it telling that the top-level decision of 5e '24 was that you needed to deeply bait and incentivize the players, to the point of dam-breaking on historical bugbears (teehee :-^)) that frankly seem to compromise the design at something like hull-integrity level—

One shots are a yuuge way for tabletop RPGs to let people gauge interest and spread the word / build a positive impression that helps overcome other hurdles to getting into a game; this was a lovely read about an important topic for us in the #TTRPGCommunity!
