The editing was indefensible. But I’m not convinced they ‘completely misrepresented what he said’. He knew what he was saying and how his supporters would interpret it, despite his caveats. The BBC shouldn’t be a polemicist, but this strikes me as a minor example of the Corporation’s failings.

Although disturbing that the resignations were promoted by some nonsense about Trump rather than any of that.
