This is the most artistic Golden Age comic book page I've seen yet.
The first panel is as wide as the page. It depicts a brown European continent in a yellow sea with a swastika burning red in Germany. The brown land forms into figures and some materialize as blue characters. Some of these figures are faceless, marching in jackboots, others are civilians shuddering in horror from the burning. The narration is written on a pergament: "It is 1941. During a single tragic year, goose-stepping Nazi hordes have swarmed across Europe --- branding every nation with the swastika! The mouths of the people are gagged--and no one may say what he thinks, no one is allowed an opinion of his own. For the very walls have ears --and every home is a jail, every room a prison cell. The continent has become one vast concentration camp where liberty is but a memory---freedom of speech a dream of long ago." The second panel is again as wide as the page. It depicts the brown land of North America and Great Britain (not to scale) in the green-blue ocean. Framed by the shoreline of Britain are two men next to a microphone, while on the American continent a circular subpanel depicts a blond man. In the green waters submarine periscopes are swarming. Narrator: "Yet one country still fights on--still stays free to talk and think as it pleases, and one voice---the voice of many---comes from this last bastion of democracy in Europe!!!" The alchemy screen of The Witcher 2 might be the worst UI I ever seen. If you have an element, it symbol is in the inner, if you don't, the outer one. The inner symbols are all right side up, but the outer ones are spun around to face inwards. Eg. quebirth is a horizontal line, not diagonal.

The first WW2 story of Captain Marvel is also the first time blood is explicitly depicted in his comics.

The Soviets shot a laser at the Challenger space shuttle in 1984, and I never heard about this???
"Author Henry S. F. Cooper Jr. wrote in Before Lift-Off that 41G had “more anomalies, glitches, nits, and malfs [malfunctions] than almost any previous mission. It was reminiscent of a long film.” One of those was when a Soviet laser-testing station targeted Challenger with a low-power laser that temporarily blinded the crew and caused equipment not to function properly. The incident was alleged to be a “warning shot” in response to the United States’ planned Strategic Defense Initiative space-based missile shield and military use of the shuttle and was met by U.S. diplomatic protests."

Wait a minute, this makes no sense. The Old Ones that colonized Antarctica were supposed to be enemies with the Mi-Go who have an outpost on Yuggoth.

Superman did actually drop a dude when he intervened in the war standing in for WW2. (In Superman comics they used a lot of small, fictional wars to stand in for WW2, always with different fictional countries.) And to anyone saying he saves the man: yes, but he just let an entire enemy ship blow up.

I recently struggled a bit with blacksmith's pliers. I thought it would be easy because it's simple shapes and it's symmetrical. Except the symmetry changes from plane symmetry to radial symmetry at the neck. IDK how to make the transition as elegant as in the real object while keeping the symmetry.

Remember that gag in the Justice League animated show when Lex Luthor unmasks the Flash and he has no idea who it is? In the 1940s they did the same gag in the comics with the Green Lantern. Gangsters take off his mask and they have no idea who that is. Because Alan Scott is not famous.
