People have an actual limit with the number of times in one week that the company's comms strategy can come off like "actually we are untrustworthy fucks who have no problem being racist to Black people and transphobic to trans people and wildly dishonest with artists who trust us with images"

they constantly censor trans, disabled, & Black ppl, delete innocent Palestinians’ accounts, they’ve banned łink for no reason at all, this is not about one mislabeled post. it’s a pattern that affects the most marginalized ppl on bluesky. but ok i guess you don’t see a problem with that.

i’m asking them to be better & see disabled & trans ppl as human. if they need to change their AI to do that then i’m going to ask them to change their AI
i guess you’re right in that i’ve already lost considering the state of the internet & the world right now. i’m never posting art to the internet again at this rate. i thought bluesky was at least somewhat better but i guess you’re right. i’m just an out of the loop trans person trying to survive 🤷

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.
the TOS states that content will be used to support BlueSky social. an outside AI moderation tool that uses its inputs in generative AI is not agreed to in that TOS. here is the disconnect. the mods are not being open about how our information is being used & misused. THAT is my issue.

it’s about the fact that until recently (apparently they changed their TOS to delete inputs after 14 days, but still) Hive has had a policy of using inputs to generate content, & none of the moderators or devs were open about using Hive to moderate until today. it’s transparency that’s the issue.
lol every single time i or anyone else has asked them about anything pertinent they have either dodged the question or not responded. idk if you’ve noticed but trans & disabled ppl aren’t humans to them

HOWEVER: Outsourcing to an AI company, that the mods admit they have no access to, with different TOS than BlueSky… it’s bad.
The Bluesky Head of Trust & Safety admitting that all posted images are processed through an AI autolabeller that presumably employees have no access to or control over? (And probably steals every image to be used in an AI “art” generator, who knows?)

There’s also zero evidence that they aren’t. Hive indicates that they do in fact use inputs to train their generative AI models. BlueSky has not confirmed that they disallow Hive from doing this with content gathered here.
