Not in the US, but I imagine a lot of people who could really use some unemployment benefits and/or assistance would be trying to stay out of sight of govt eyes for fear or being targeted.

Seems pretty clear that enough of the military are happy to oblige. Those doing the killing, and all those around them keeping quiet about it. No outrage or significant push back from the military machine. Not enough to slow these killings down.

I live 2 hours away but it has always been special: the librarians helped me study for a uni place (older student, 40 yrs ago), working in Parkville and needing space for quiet work that's where I'd be (20 yrs ago). Now when I have a chance I visit a book I have a longterm relationship with (6 yrs).

About 5 years ago my NY resolution was not to buy any new clothes for the year. It was not a challenge at all. I do sew, which helped. I kept it going with a few exceptions (forgetting to pack PJs on a trip, sports bras, bathers...) challenge remains to source ethically produced fabrics.
