Perfect. I remember teaching myself to eat the whole apple including the core and just spit out the seeds because someone did it in a book once and now I still do that but have long forgotten what book made me think that was cool / edgy.

Inevitably, but it’s so annoying to find a whole bloody industry whose product you require but whose aesthetic norm is so in lockstep on the virtue of something you think is stupid. And HAS been for my whole life.

Possible that our brain rewards/excites us more for noticing dangerous things because they are more likely to be life or death. Like, there’s less survival value to paying attention to a pretty flower than to a shadow that might be a tiger. So we’ll often default to negative focuses over positive?
