This paper grew out of my postdoc in the EQUALOPP Project (@unil.bsky.social) and the LIVES Centre, where I learned a lot. Now it’s on to a new chapter: I’m starting as an Assistant Professor in the Social Sciences Department at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid 🎉

We show that England’s 1944 Education Act weakened the link between the polygenic index for educational attainment and adult socioeconomic outcomes, consistent with an increase in equality of opportunity (but with no comparable decline in the role of parental SES).
