The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza shared details today on how Israel’s two-year genocide has deliberately collapsed the Strip’s health system. Hospitals, clinics, and oxygen stations have been destroyed, medicine stocks depleted, and famine conditions worsened.

You may have heard Peters trying to make the situation with the abducted NZers all about him

They’ve been released and their flights home paid for by the people who love them

Unlike Peters, who has all his flights paid for by taxpayers

Not sure how far you'll get on that thing... but give it a go 😁

I saw that and it made me cry.

As you indicated I have a platform, and my views have been clear for a long time. I stand for non-violence and honouring the rule of law and human rights. I shouldn’t have to repeat that, whether for individual or group cases, simply because of who I am. 3/3

Such positioning is common: calls for condemnation framed as if silence equals guilt. Many see it as collective blame or collective responsibility attribution trying to hold someone accountable for what is clearly an individual act against another individual’s home. 2/3

I have no political affiliation with the Green Party, and our connection to the Palestine issue is that I, like more than 70% of the world, oppose genocide. To be honest, your reply felt to the first post seemed like both a deflection and a kind of compelled denunciation or loyalty test. 🧵1/3

? Are you inferring I've been violent in some way?
alinasu33.bsky.social
Explain how I'm connected with that event please? And how the point I raised relates to your request condemnation for property damage to a residence?

The three achieved more diplomatically than the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Perhaps he should reimburse NZ for funds wasted on his UN trip last month, so those resources cover their return flights. After all, they had their own transport until unlawfully detained by another government.
Peters insists Kiwis detained in Israel 'can find their own way home', taxpayers won't foot flights
The family of the trio detained were in tears asking for the Govt to bring them home.

Many mainstream outlets may be silent, but we cannot be.

IWCNZ calls on the NZ Govt to act with integrity: recognise Palestine, uphold international law, and end silence in the face of injustice.

IWCNZ Urges NZ Government To Act On International Law, End Silence, And Recognise Palestine
A principled stance requires that Aotearoa honours its agreements and insists that all states we interact and conduct business with do so as well.

Morally that may be true, but legally it isn’t. In NZ, once a young person reaches the age of legal capacity for those rights , parental responsibility ends unless they lack capacity and then wouldn’t be entitled to those rights listed.
alinasu33.bsky.social
I hear the pain in what you’ve shared, and I don’t dismiss that. My post was only about the legal question of whether 18–19 year olds should still be their parents’ responsibility when they already hold full adult rights in the areas I listed. That’s the tension I was pointing to.

I’ve been thinking the same, and honestly, given the challenges she’s faced, it’s far more understandable. This matter deserves caution, care, and privacy, rather than being thrown into the headlines.

I'd say more like negligent (at best) rather than naive because some of us have been jumping up and down, waving flags on this for years... I know I've raised it for a decade... oh and yeah in hands of very few, placing more power and resources with these guys than most countries have.

Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."

Absolutely not. If kids are able to make their own voting choices, serve on a jury, buy alcohol, give sexual consent, marry without parental consent, and leave school, they are not the parents' legal responsibility. Seem to be taking two sets of indviduals rights the 18 year old and the parents.

Cowardly announcing policy on a Sunday that underlines the total failure of this government’s policies.

First announced at the Budget, the government had not at the time decided where to draw the line.
