My rating system:
1 - Perfect Shite
2 - Awful
3 - Bad
4 - Mediocre
5 - Mid
6 - Good
7 - Really Good (used to be great, but turned to really good after considering that to me a good movie/show and a really good one are vastly different when I evaluate them)
8 - Great
9 - Amazing
10 - Perfect
The Hudsucker Proxy is a movie that I'm surprised didn't receive universal praise when it first released. The Hudsucker Proxy marks the first blockbuster for the Coen Brothers, was their first attempt at doing a "mainstream" film. (1/3)

The only recap that matters (kidding).

Song Sung Blue feels like a really dated movie, and is the rare movie about a tribute band (and I think this is the first biopic?). The movie shines during the more emotional moments, and during the music scenes but outside of that the movie meanders its way through moment to moment. (1/2)

like 75% of dem messaging right now should be “the party led by epsteins best friend is breaking into pre-k childcare centers so they can record your toddlers and put the videos on internet”
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

Imai and Munetaka Murakami signing with teams no one expected is frustrating.

Really liked Imai and wanted him to sign with the Cubs.

2025 was one of the best movie years in recent memory.

Anyone saying that this was a "bad movie year" are liars.

Calling it a wrap on movie watching on 2025.

370 total movies watched, 138 watched in theaters.

Two separate lists:

Top 50 2025
Top 50 of all the movies I've watched in 2025. This is not limited to 2025 theatrical/streaming releases. 51 - 60 = honorable mentions

Steve is the type of movie that could have been way too heavy handed and on the nose, but ends up being one of the better movies on mental health and the hope institutions can bring to people on the fringes of society. (1/3)

100 Meters is a big gamble of an adaptation where the entire manga is adapted in under two hours. While the manga had 5 total volumes, it's far from a short series that contained a TON of dialogue. (1/4)

Begging liberals to not fucking put the shitty cousin of Chicken Little on a pedestal like they did with MTG.
Lauren Boebert just reacted to Trump blocking clean water for her district after she voted to release the Epstein Files:

“I hope this veto has nothing to do with retaliation for calling out corruption…

I thought Trump’s campaign was about lowering costs and cutting red tape.”

So happy that I was able to watch this before the year ended. No theater near me showed this.

It Was Just an Accident is a movie that was almost erased from history never to be seen after a police search occurred, (1/4)

Found a place I can watch 'It Was Just an Accident'.

THIS is why releasing a 2025 list before 2025 is over shouldn't be done (IMO)

Shattered Glass is a really fast paced journalism movie that's all gas no brakes. Centered around the real Vanity Fair article with the same title as the movie. The movie seemingly is a very accurate recounting of events as Stephen Glass himself stated after watching the movie, (1/2)

Angels are the most cursed franchise (kind of a joke).
The Angels signed Anthony Rendon to a 7-year, $245 million contract in 2019 and this was what they got back.

Fear is another 90s thriller where if it were to be released today, it might have been really well received. The movie does a great job in how it approaches the romance scenes in the first act, and the "mask off" moments for David. This is Mark Whalberg's first lead role (I believe), (1/2)

Took me awhile to get around to watching this.

A Star Is Born is a great directorial debut for Bradley Cooper, and while the movie is slightly overrated in 2025 it's still a great movie. This movie for me is the movie that solidified Lady Gaga as a phenomenal actress. (1/4)

The Housemaid is a predictable thriller with zero tension, and a mystery with so little intrigue that you can figure out the entire movie after the first act. There really isn't that much "character" to the movie, every character feels flat and the story is one that's been told a whole ton. (1/3)

Orpheus (Orphée) has aged very well, and the visual effects in this are really impressive (jaw dropping for the era this was made). This is a really good version of the Orpheus and Eurydice legend. While the movie is about love, death, and time; (1/3)

Nouvelle Vague is a nice homage to the French New Wave, and is Richard Linklater's second biopic film filmed in a way that pays homage to the subjects career. Watching this genuinely feels like it takes you back to the films of the era, this feels like a genuine throwback of a movie. (1/2)

On-Gaku: Our Sound is proof that anime movies don't need fancy animation or high budgets, all you really need is a great story and passion. This is one of the best anime movies I have seen in recent years, and the rotoscoped animation is phenomenal with the watercolor/hand drawn backgrounds. (1/2)

The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes is rich in its symbolism, specifically its use of time and the tunnel. I had the unfortunate luck of watching the English dub, the voice direction is very lackluster especially with how every kid sounds like an adult (1/3)

1 more week until the end of year.

So far I've watched 359 movies (goal is to watch 365).

Of the 359 movie I've watched, I've watched 155 movies in theaters.

AMC A-List came in clutch.

Top 50 of what I watched this year and Top 30 of movies released in 2025 will be ready on New Year's Day.

Marty Supreme is Josh Safdie's solo directorial debut, but unlike Benny's debut Josh sticks to the Safdie formula we are all familiar with. The movie moves at a frantic pace, (1/3)
