I knew who I was this morning, but I’ve changed a few times (and platforms) since then. I regret to report I still have a lot of opinions. Hobbies: writing, horror, cheese.
Correct! I almost fell out the last time I walked into a bookstore and saw the prices on new books - both hard and paperback, but especially the once affordable paperbacks.

I love the library and a good used bookstore, of course, but that’s not the matter at hand.

From an accessibility standpoint it makes sense University presses would be inclined to continue offering both + I’d imagine they probably get more ownership over that decision making process than authors/sellers at the big pubs do.

We saw the prototype of the Nero Doctrine with Twitter. The goal wasn't to make it profitable or "free." The goal was to break the one place where news broke faster than the state could spin it.

They bought the town square not to speak in it, but to burn it down so we’d have nowhere else to gather.

Y’all I loved that place. Getting off it was hard. But the last couples times I went back to it after spending time away… it left such a bad taste in my mouth. I used to refuse to call it X but I do now bc calling it Twitter feels like a disservice to the space we used to have - that space is gone.

I’ll be blocking anyone and removing the replies of those who want to say basic stupid things like “our countries are different.”

1. No shit
2. And?

Do some critical thinking before you reply to this post.

There’s just a lot of weird (derogatory) projection of people’s feelings onto the man taking heroic actions and what THEY would have done and idk… just shut the fuck up I guess bc no one knows what they would do in a situation like that until they’re in it, ya know? Stop being so weird online.
