I like the idea of squeezing more life out of tech that otherwise might be regarded as past it. So my no-frills rig for occasionally recording away from my DAW is an old Toshiba laptop, previously creaking under Win 10, revived with an SSD, Mint Linux and a spare PreSonus Audiobox. It lives!

Haven’t made a #BskyBeer post for a while, so.… I discovered the connection between Home Bargains and the perfectly quaffable Love Lane Brewery range they sell so suspiciously cheaply: the HB parent company rescued the brewery from insolvency last year. Mystery solved Scooby, pass me another can.

SQ-1, DS-2, DF-8. It occurred to me that the raw analogue buzz of this happy little gathering was taking me right back to noodling with the MS-20 over forty years ago.

Rearranged the wall a little in my tiny cupboard studio to squeeze in the Stylophone DF-8. I have informed my wife that if I buy one more device we’ll have to move. Or at the very least evict one of the grown-up kids.

I concur, saw them in Glasgow and they were mesmerising. Same thing on the friends front - so many hugs and handshakes from the old gang, all of us bemused and delighted to be watching the Cabs in our sixties. 😆
