As a long time Trek fan, I'd say that TNG really hit its stride in the third season when Roddenberry took a back seat. He was seminal to the franchise, but the shows got better the less involved he was.

So yeah, I'd say he's the best and worst part about Star Trek.

I totally get it... I had a similar membership when I first set out on my own but found it to be more of a waste than a money saver for my single life. At least what I've seen, it's only worth it for family/group situations.
