West Ashley is a bit cheaper to stay but is really close to downtown. The Town and Country Inn is really nice. Last time I checked they still had an indoor pool and indoor tennis court.

Downtown? The Dewberry is really nice and so is Charleston Place. If you're looking in a different area I can suggest others.
