I was asking sambews about this and we came to a similar conclusion

would be willing to bet, considering they explicitly say more updates are on the way and sooner, this isn't the end of the content cycle(otherwise they would have put tri color + fest in pbs as well)

The term used in Japanese is 一段落した, which is about the closing of something, but not actually the full completion of it. It's like the completion of a *step*, not a whole process.

Source: I speak Japanese (not fluently, but at an intermediate level)

I can see it being read as
They chose not to make any major changes to the game until...

1) they were done making new main weapons and stages
2) they were done making all weapon kits and stages
3) they were ready to move on from a resting point

And I'm very confident in interpretation #3.

we don't even have the official translation yet afaik the post cirulating is the machine translation

I tried setting up gyro aim through steam input in rivals and tf2 the other day and it works surprisingly better then expected

My gut feeling is "line of sight" is literal here
Further research shows that your opponent's health will only be visible to you if they're in your line of sight, and only for a few seconds after they've been damaged.

Opponents submerged in ink or behind cover will also have their health concealed.
January 27, 2026 at 2:34 PM
So to me this feels like a moot argument since if you're visible and caught out the healthbar will PROBABLY(big maybe) not be the reason you're spotted

Just will have to see how they implement it in practice, ex maybe it goes away while you're in swim form I don't think they showed that yet

I don't rlly know how to articulate my feelings because I haven't digested it fully but I think the pace of the game is so fast that the healthbar in most situations will only be visible for a very short time to begin with (see the aura clip where you CAN see the healthbars of the players killed)

To me it feels like QOL which I appreciate a LOT

You could already track the info it provides by looking at your opponents model and seeing how much ink of your color is on them but its such a tiny detail to keep track of its not practical in longer fights, vs a big bar(i like a lot)

I'm all for this tbh the game lasting longer is good for narrative building and consistent community(especially since the game is accessible on s1 and 2)
A 5 year lifespan feels acceptable for esports but that might be my frame of reference being based on tf2/smash/etc

Basically what I'm getting at is X is where I go to limit test things
I got a clip yesterday that demonstrates what I mean perfectly (I'm calling it "address me 🐘")
January 26, 2026 at 10:00 PM
- what tends to happen is one player will go to their preffered spot first (ex glass on ramen zones) and if you go to the same place with them, you end up clumping and diminishing returns kicks in hard
So its a good scenario to test your 2nd or 3rd choice locations to go to (ex snipe on barnacle)
January 26, 2026 at 9:58 PM
It could and should have yes, but you have exactly 0% control over that outcome, so I personally find it more apt to focus on what I could change within my control (internal vs external locus of control)

To me double back games are a good litmus test or "do I know where to go" because -
January 26, 2026 at 9:57 PM
honestly as a backline main I feel generally i have the most control over whether my team overall wins or loses, but that may just be the lobbies I'm in (on the edge between 1900-2100)
January 26, 2026 at 7:44 PM
for games like this I'd shrug and move on, or review it and figure out what micro stuff I could have done differently to upped my chances of winning

out of 8 players per game, you are the only one that remains the same, so you just gotta keep your head up
