Until we had a miscarriage in pregnancy I had no idea a) quite how devastating this is and b) how it happens to LOADS of people. It's incredibly common and it's a absolute bastard.

This is a decent and thoughtful law and props to all behind it.

Today marks the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

This year, it comes as the UK is about to pass a law guaranteeing the right to bereavement leave for miscarriage, making us one of only 4 countries in the world to offer it.

My heart is with everyone who experiences the heartbreak of baby loss.

I'm afraid I don't know the context, sorry! I just think in a post colonial world, a half-pregnant status between independence or full integration is wrong.

This also applies to my own home country's overseas territories incidentally.

The current situation is deeply wrong. I have no skin in the game either way, but the hypocrisy of the US saying "no taxation without representation" to the Brits as part-justification for the revolution and then imposing tax and no senators on PR sticks in the craw, does it not?

Yes but it is right now and it is, ludicrously, unrepresented. PR has 3.3m people. Montana has 1.3 and has two senators.

Look, I get *and agree* with the frustration in this piece & do think Europe shd stand up to Trump: TACO!

But for anyone with IT experience, this sentence is ludicrous.
