Happy to share that my PhD project is finally published!🪱✨
Selfish genes are found across the tree of life. They can disrupt inheritance patterns and at the same time act as units for molecular innovation. Here we tried to answer one big question: how do selfish genes emerge in the first place?

That era is over — all of the Austrian government's main digital services are now available on a single website (oesterreich.gv.at) and have been translated into English.
You can register at the new address, reissue documents, and sort out everything related to your e-card and pension.

One of my all-time favorite software products has finally introduced a full-featured desktop app.
Just give it a try — IMO @fastmail.com is really the golden standard of software, and I'm happy for supporting them since 2019.

Not many of you know, but I have an app and a website for finding specialty coffees in the beautiful city of Vienna. I recently added filters there (and it's not about coffee) and made an experimental list with bakeries 🧁

Heaven does exist and Austrian food must be served there.

One thing I want to admit is that I *hate* AI and what it's becoming. Another big thing that brings us one step closer to a dystopian future full of misery and lies being presented as something good and cool.

People Think AI Images of Hollywood Sign Burning Are Real
AI generated slop is tricking people into thinking an already devastating series of wildfires in Los Angeles are even worse than they are — and using it to score political points.

Funny how the authorities urge you to travel by train instead of plane, and then you check the prices and realize that it's actually cheaper to fly from Vienna to Porto tomorrow than to take a train from Vienna to Salzburg.

Couple years ago @alwxx.bsky.social told me… well you can read the story at twiceaday.club/about

What you HAVE to know is that public clocks are glorious, but often neglected, so, Twice a Day

Is it a silly pun gone too far, a tiny database, or a whimsical lil' project? Yes

Spain is designed to fulfill the desire to see richness and boldness in culture, architecture and just ordinary people on the streets.
Definitely miss that intensity in Central Europe.

I tried Emacs, Vim, Sublime and even VSCode for quite a long time, but the truth is that nobody has invented anything better than IntelliJ IDEA (and its derivatives).
Today I finally gave up and renewed my license, paying 101 EUR (+VAT) for Ultimate.
Hats off to @jetbrains.com.

It's ridiculous how the UI here is so much more lightweight and simpler than in you-know-what. Possibly it's the magic of doing things from scratch using modern tech or better design from the beginning but it all makes *the competitor* a platform I suddenly don't like.

I'm finally ready to step into AI territory and use ChatGPT-generated descriptions for my project.

Some nerdy stuff to start this account right and set the proper vibe.
That one is called “Andromeda’s Edge” and it’s the first board game I’ve played in a while.

Ok, let's try this new thing out.
