Be Kind. Be Human.
The Architecture of Obsession. 🧵

There is a ghost in the machine of modern romance. It looks like love, burns like obsession, but is actually a "glitch" in our attachment software.

Psychologist Dorothy Tennov called it Limerence.

Let’s dismantle the mechanism. 👇

Is voting a "moral duty" or totally pointless? We've been stuck in this academic debate for years. It's a luxury. It misses the real crisis.

Democracy isn't just in decline; it's being actively attacked from two sides at once, and the assault is accelerating.

A new NYT article by Finn Brunton titled "Crypto is the most successful libertarian project in American history" argues it's a tool for autocracy.
It's a powerful narrative, but it's based on a fundamental category error.
It fatally confuses the protocol with the persona. 🧵[1/11]

That a third of young people favor communism shows a profound failure of historical education. We must remember the brutal lesson of the 20th century: fascism and communism are authoritarian twins, both undermine liberty. The great struggle to defend liberalism against both must never be forgotten.

This wasn't just a scuffle; it was one of the first recorded instances of collective resistance against police abuse in the US and it was ACTUALLY led by transgender people.

Before parades and established support networks... before challenging discriminatory laws felt possible... just being visibly queer, especially transqueer, often meant facing criminalization alone. On an August night in 1966, San Francisco's Tenderloin district reached a breaking point.

Before rainbow flags connected a global community... before hit shows like the L word… before lesbians could easily find each other... Before there was Pride, carving out space required quiet courage and immense vision.

Before there was Pride… there was Dr. Frank Kameny. A Harvard-educated astronomer working for the U.S. Army Map Service, fired in 1957 for a charge of being gay. The expectation during that era, isolation, shame and silence.
