Imagine a soundtrack not being nominated or only being faux-nominated (pre-determined to lose) because the game was too successful and good, and got too many other rewards. Fuck the composers, or art directors, or whatever team was in charge of the category that gets arbitrarily cut-off.

That leads to even more tokenization of awards than people think there already is. Artificial limits on awards or nominations to "let other games have a chance" isn't really a great idea. It turns into "Game X only won Award A because Game Y won B, C, and D." etc.
