Alcaraz played a great first set, then with a relatively poor 2nd service game in set 2 (concentration lapse) Sinner is back to 1 set all. Sinner adjusted well in set 2 and Alcaraz missed some crucial FHs.

Tennis has a strange "cosmic" justice. Had Sinner/Alcaraz peaked a year earlier (perhaps Covid break) Djokovic may simply have not broken the slams record.

This one will hurt Djokovic! Very hard for him to reach 25. Although, if he sticks around until 45 like Venus Williams he may play a slam where he does not face Alcaraz AND Sinner in b2b

Alcaraz, well below his tournament level leads 2 sets to 0 against Djokovic (at 38) who really looks 38 against this power and speed. I think Djokovic is starting to measure the gap between him and the top 2 in the game!

On 0-30, Alcaraz misses an "easy" FH and Djokovic runs with this game.

Level is below average for both Alcaraz and Djokovic. Both still searching for range. Alcaraz up a break but margins are small.

Alcaraz's got a good chance here:
- tennis is clicking is recent run
- faster day conditions
- 16 years age Gap
- Djokovic has 13h in the legs and 38 yo

Usually when Djokovic is led 1 set to 0, you know that he will come back. Somehow what Sinner is proposing is just a better version of what Djokovic could, this also helps understanding the recent upper hand he's managed to have against Djokovic.

Dimitrov is looking at a huge opportunity to make QF. Sinner is not the player you would have thought may get injured in this match. But this is a very serious opportunity.

Amazing that Alcaraz has even a higher margin compared to field on grass. The margins are narrower against Top players as well. Meaning Sinner/Djokovic are much closer to him than in Roland Garros.

- One of the best slam finals ever
- Sinner saw the finish line (not on serve) but failed to convert
- The level of the 5th set was all-time high material
- Both kids deserve huge credit for the way they fought
- Alcaraz is just special, 5 slams at 22 and with a very decent shot at Wimbledon

Sinner is way too good!
June 8, 2025 at 3:41 PM
After a very good first set, Alcaraz basically checked out for 3-4 games that could cost him 2 entire sets. What is most surprising to me, is the lack of variations from Alcaraz

The Zverev/Tsitsipas are the biggest losers here. Both would probably measure the gap between them and the level of Sinner/Alcaraz (winning a slam)

Djokovic is quietly leading in this set. Changing things up with a bit more calm.
June 6, 2025 at 7:48 PM
Both players are a bit tired, they are going less for returns. The rallies are a bit less intense.
June 6, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Sinner is at 45% first serve and leading 2 sets to 0!!!
June 6, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Sinner's only issue is his first serve, he's at 49%. If he was at mid sixties, he would likely be less troubled!
June 6, 2025 at 7:05 PM
This level from Sinner!
June 6, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Djokovic is trying to change pace, volume, height to disturb Sinner's rythm. He realizes how strong he is from the baseline
June 6, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Sinner breaks, Djokovic seems a bit rattled with quality (pace + depth)
June 6, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Alcaraz lost 4 sets in this tournament in his way to the Final and spent 14:47, he should be in a reasonably good physical shape for the last battle!
June 6, 2025 at 4:20 PM
The A level of Alcaraz is just scary! I know this is a bit extrapolative but I really wonder if there is any player ever that reaches that peak!
June 6, 2025 at 3:15 PM
The level of Alcaraz in the last few games was huge. More consistent with his performance against Paul! If he can maintain his level in the Final, very hard to imagine him losing other than another strange mental block!
June 6, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Musetti is playing really well! In almost all compartments of the game. Alcaraz still seemingly pressured and not playing with freedom. The issue for Alcaraz when he's facing this high level and when he's seemingly not able to find solutions he starts to rush his shots.
