Alcaraz breaks in the 4th, will this be the crucial break! Something tells me there is still a twist out there to this match.

Alcaraz is leading 5-0 in set 3, momentum completely shifted. He reduced the UE count!

The issue is not only the 2 top seeds likely to beat him. As age progresses (nears 39 in AO 2026) it becomes more and more difficult to beat Top 10, let alone consecutively.

The worst thing here for Djokovic is not that he lost in straight, it is that Alcaraz played relatively bad with respect to his standards to beat him in straight.

Tennis has strange "cosmic" justice...

Or even 10 years earlier, preventing Djokovic/Nadal from coming anywhere near Federer's record. The competition would have not been the same for either given they would have been younger, but still.

They may have also appeared and peaked 5 years before preventing both Djokovic and Nadal from beating Federer's record.

It is clear that Alcaraz is a bit above with his below average level. However, he's a bit reluctant to pull away similarly to the Cincinnati and AO match.

Remarkable stamina from Djokovic in this 4-4 0-30 situation. Alcaraz may have chosen to play the legs but it is not his style. The balls catches the net and falls from his side. Then misses a "routine" dropshot

Alcaraz level dips since the missed FH and Djokovic wins many consecutive points. This could be a major difference between Alcaraz and Sinner, the base level of Alcaraz that plays with no intentions and many errors is not Top 10.

Alcaraz has a game plan, unlike his previous matches he is tense and making many more errors than usual. Let's hope level raises a bit!

Alcaraz is always a bit tense playing Djokovic (unlike Sinner)

This is exactly the expectation I'd have before AO 2025 QF, never count Djokovic out!

If the play is on average level, Alcaraz has the edge. I'd say Alcaraz in 3/4 sets.
September 5, 2025 at 7:17 PM
Djokovic is in Alcaraz's head leading in the last 2 encounters. He knows he can flatten the FH and rush Alcaraz (his biggest advantage)

Horrible for Dimitrov, could not catch a break. Sinner should not be reassured though for elbow issue and level of play!

Not sure if Sinner ever came back from 2 sets down. He might also like the indoor conditions more than Dimitrov.
