Over on Threads they have Big Sentimental Feelings about my daring to question those lyrics because 1.) apparently everyone DID put presents on the tree back in the day and 2.) how dare I try to change the lyrics of a beloved song (I deleted the thread)

I think it's more likely bad songwriting rather than tiny gifties (though that is adorable) but... both "'round" and "'neath" would have worked fine!

Yeah and when people die up there they should be required to have their sorry ass bodies transported somewhere appropriate at their own expense
