Yep, if they aren't in session, there can't be any votes. BTW, it's a violation of the constitution to not be in session for more than 3 consecutive days without the approval of the other Congress house.

Someone pointed out today that the House of Representatives can't be fully shut down for more than 3 days without the consent of the senate according to Article 1, section 5 of the US Constitution, so I looked it up.
Speaker Johnson holds the power to call the House back into Session.
