America - Land of the Free! At least, we sure do like to say that. Did you know the origin of this phrase was due to immigrants and indentured servitude? Young America needed laborers to build up a nation. To fill this need, America paid immigrants to come over... but at a significant cost.

Ruby Bridges was born 1954. At the age of 6 she became the first black student in the south, entering an all white school. Her first day was met with protesters screaming and throwing things at her. Parents yanked 500 of their kid out, but Ruby never missed a day of school.

In 1969, The Black Panther Party recognized that children were going hungry in the oppressive society they lived in and began the Free Breakfast Program. Their work fed 20,000 kids daily in 23 cities in 1969. This would inspire the School Breakfast Program to fund nationally. #blackhistory #resist

Black History Month begins tomorrow whether the federal government recognizes it or not. Over the course of the month I will be sharing stories and more to help raise Black History topics of achievements, struggles, and the racism that still exists today. I am white, but I will not stand down.

Brains are computers. They are programed as we grow up. The reason why big cities in US are overwhelmingly liberal/left leaning is because they have greater diversity and have experience with people of many dfferent walks of life. It's never too late to check your biases, reflect, and reprogram

Despite being massively underutilized, >50% of all US babies rely on WIC.
Every $1 spent on prenatal WIC benefits saves >$3 in healthcare expenses (mostly to taxpayers) in the 1st yr of life

I can only hope that Trump's rush to erase black history, use ICE aggressively, declare 2 genders, dismantle DEI and FEMA, bury women's rights, increase debt, trade American jobs for cheaper labor, increase consumer costs, suppress science, etc... Fast tracks us to the revolt phase of an oligarchy.
