TLDR: In 2023, the County Commission passed a zoning amendment allowing larger homes in Hog Hammock on Sapelo Island. Residents overwhelmingly oppose this change because it threatens higher property taxes and displacement in the last intact Gullah Geechee community on Georgia’s coast.

This election is about whether development happens to a community or with it. McIntosh County voters should vote YES to repeal this zoning amendment and protect Sapelo Island for future generations.

Shutdown threats. Instability passed off as leadership. Cruelty was treated as strength.
