Perhaps for hardcore MAGA, but you'd be surprised.

And, of course, Stephen Miller talks about immigrants like a straight up Nazi would talk about Jews: as if they were a contaminant. As if it's vinegar spoiling milk. Instead of people just being people.

Needless to say, most of America is built on "imported societies."

Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

I talked about this with Scaachi Koul in a recent episode. She explained how a lot of immigrants from countries Trump deems "Third World" did not think Trump was talking abou them. Because they're here legally! It's those others he's talking about, right?

Nope!

JD Vance repeatedly lied, calling legal immigrants "illegal" during the campaign. He did this, because he knew that voters would balk at a plan to deport legal immigrants.

Polls repeatedly show most Americans support robust legal immigration. So Trump et all lied.

Vance says Haitian migrants with protected status are 'illegal aliens' to be deported
The Republican vice presidential nominee continues to rail against Haitian migrants living in Ohio, though many have Temporary Protected Status, as the GOP escalates its hardline immigration stance.

As a reminder, I block for humorlessness. But doubly so if you snitch tag in hopes of creating bad faith drama.

A lot of understandable outrage on behalf of female journalists, who struggle to get treated with respect and decency. I agree with all that. But also, let's pour one out for sex workers whose only crime was to be honest about what they do for a living, only to get treated like trash for it.

For sure. You never see "parents rights" invoked as a defense of the child. It's always about nullifying a child's right to safety, autonomy, food, and healthcare.

It seems you think women exist outside of the patriarchy? Which....is why it's a systematic explanation. We all live inside it.

This is a definitive case of both sides are vile people.

I am a survivor of rape and domestic violence. I see clearly how shit rolls downhill. When I see how so many other victims become victimizers, I kiss my knuckles and say, "There but for the grace of the non-existent god."

We who don't pay it forward should be humble and grateful, not defensive.
November 27, 2025 at 3:18 AM
I find, for instance, that men who aren't misogynist tend to react calmly to the observation that patriarchy teaches men to be misogynist. They are the exception, and they feel confident, not defensive.

When men get angry at this obvious observation, it's usually a shame reaction.

A good time for the eternal rule: If it's not about you, it's not about you.

When you see a comment that doesn't apply to you, it's very rare to get super defensive.

"Abuse often causes dysfunction" is just a fact. To get really angry is...not reassuring that you're an obvious exception.
November 27, 2025 at 3:15 AM
It's odd you think this is a natural phenomenon, and not the result of patriarchal training. I'd like some evidence, because that seems like a huge stretch.

Trying to apply logic to the hysterias of fascists is always a mistake, I suppose. It's much more psychological damage. Trump/RFK obviously cannot handle anxiety about their aging bodies, so they project it onto other people, the "real" old people who "deserve" to die.
November 27, 2025 at 2:45 AM
Also, and I've written about this, RFK is an unvarnished eugenicist. But he and his fellow travelers seem to see covid as a missed opportunity to "purge" us of a lot of older people.

Which seems weird, since RFK is also old. But he thinks he's "worthy."

Yeah, I'm a little weirded out at how she didn't notice how the men were openly mad that their wives were being treated like autonomous adults.
