Article from The Guardian on Katie Wilson: “The thing the Harrell campaign didn’t have – and I think probably almost every other campaign in Seattle recently has not had – is this groundswell of volunteers who are willing to put a ton of their time and energy into this campaign, unpaid,” says Alex Gallo-Brown, her campaign manager. What Harrell did have was money. He and the Pac that supported him outraised Wilson two to one, backed by big business, developers and some of Seattle’s wealthiest individuals. In October alone, they spent half a million dollars on TV attack ads. Like Andrew Cuomo did with Mamdani, Harrell tried to frame Wilson as an inexperienced communist who would ultimately destroy the city.

Katie Wilson versus Bruce Harrell: Katie will win! And there will be an automatic machine recount.
Katie 133,469 Bruce 133,378 6400 votes remaining. If Katie takes 54.85% of the remaining 6400 votes, she will have 3510 additional votes, for a total of 136,979 votes if Bruce takes 44.86% of the remaining 6400 votes, he will have 2,871 additional votes, for a total of 136,249 votes This leaves Katie winning by 136,979 - 136,249 = 730 votes If this holds true, there will definitely be a recount. Ballots counted: 272,041 + remaining 6400 votes = 278,441 total votes. 730 vote difference / 278,441 total votes = .0026 or 0.26%. Which is less than half of 1%, which means there will be an automatic machine recount. A hand recount will occur if the margin is less than 150 votes.

Here's my update on Katie Wilson v Bruce Harrell in the Seattle Mayor race. Feel free to lay waste to my logic or numbers
Friday 11/7/25 - Katie vs Bruce Estimated 45,000 ballots remaining Katie has 112,135 votes Bruce has 116,435 votes Total votes for Bruce or Katie = 112,135 + 116,435 = 228,570 Ballots counted: 232,896 vs 228,570. This means 4326 people didn't vote for either Katie or Bruce. Let's look at how the numbers came in versus yesterday's ballot drop: Name Yesterday Today Difference Percent Bruce Harrell 91263 116435 25172 44.86 Write-in 748 914 166 0.002 Katie Wilson 81355 112135 30,780 54.85 Totals 56,118 If Katie takes 54.85% of the remaining 45000 votes, she will get 24,682 more votes If Bruce takes 44.86% of the remaining 45000 votes, he will get 20,187 more votes Katie 24,682 + 112,135 = 136,817 Bruce 20,187 + 116,435 = 136,622 If this holds true, then Katie wins by 195 votes If the numbers drop by an equal percent of Seattle ballots that for some reason don't cast a vote for mayor, then Katie should also win, just by a smaller number of votes.

Here's my take on the Seattle Mayor race, aka Bruce vs Katie, after tonight's vote drop. We desperately need Katie to win this one
Bruce 53.32-46.18 Katie= Katie down 7.14% currently, after tonight's first drop. 250,012 estimated total votes she needs 250,012/2 = 125,006 So 125,007 votes to win she has 53,737 votes currently; needs 125,007 - 53,737 = 71,270 more votes to win Bruce has 62,086 votes, needs 125,007 - 62,086 = 62,921 more votes to win Counted ballots = 118,043 after tonight's first drop. 250,012 - 118,043 = 131,969 votes remaining to count Katie needs 71,270/131,969 = 54% of the remaining vote to win I think this is possible!
