One year of protracted withdrawal and counting because I followed my now former doc's instructions to reduce the dose of venlafaxine. Never went off. Still I developed disabling withdrawal symptoms.

SSRI withdrawal is something else. My brain feels like it's chemically dependent on them at this point.
Who would have guessed that medicine that gives your brain serotonin that it can't create itself develops a dependency? And they don't even warn you about it before giving it to you.
