Agreed. And even if somehow the worst doesn’t happen, Canada still benefits from growing as an autonomous nation and fostering more diverse international relationships.

Totally. We clearly don’t have the capacity to be a refuge for all Americans. And my take is that it is up to them to fix their country. But trans kids - that feels different. Refugees from Central America also feel different. Still, you’re correct that we have to be smart and careful.

I’ve been expecting this for a while. I’m also wondering how long we can continue to treat the US as a safe 3rd country for refugees.

The world is on fire and the economy is bad. I get that. But I also wish we could invest in proven measures that prevent problems. Not just in education, but across the board. (3)

The bad news: losing qualified school librarians in our current information landscape is very worrying, and it’s a constant struggle to find budget room for adequate staffing with no easy answers. (2)
