i think what i dislike about how xiv handles gods and otherworldly entities is it has this strangely secular approach to them where they can only exist if given some logical meaning (primals + the twelve) like man idk its a fantasy game sometimes i think gods of esoteric concepts just exist

i did like other parts of the patch and how the story was set up but man i wish necron was in endwalker where it felt like his theming was super relevant and wouldve been explored with some class

necron is my favorite ff boss/antagonist so my opinion is just someone who is personally bitter about it i think its ‘serviceable’ if you arent a diehard over them im just disappointed bc it always feels like the team is given super interesting material and chooses the worst execution

making necron a primal representing the “fear of death”— cutting the majority of the meat off of its meaning and making it calyx’s plaything… its just like augh. why cant necron just be an entity that exists in its own right why did it have to be used so cheaply

my only spoiler embargo opinion really is im quite disappointed with necrons execution and inclusion and feel bad it was included bc it feels like a bit of a waste… i wouldnt go as far as to say its insulting to ff9 necron but it is pretty close
