I make this point a lot, to deaf ears - it's pretty meaningless at this point. We aren't spending much time thinking about cold war alliances.

Used to work at a wing restaurant in a country town owned by a city lesbian couple. Got asked CONSTANTLY if the lack of gendered bathrooms was cause of liberals, and I'd explain we weren't that busy and had only one bathroom with a changing table, and they'd do a mean, dismissive laugh. EVERY. TIME.

Holy shit, I legit say this all the time and people either look at me with pity or like I'm insane. TWIN!

The context in which it exists might be grim and shameful moment in US history that deeply distresses me...but still, this song goes hard.
