It happened. But arguing over “stolen land” focuses on the impossible task of undoing the past rather than improving the present. All modern nations were formed through conquest, migration, or coercion. There is no clear, fair, or practical way to reverse centuries of history.

The stolen land argument is just plain silly. All land has been invaded and fought over. There are no innocents.

They understand. They just don't like it that it came from the Black guy. If Obamacare was nicknamed Bushcare, McCaincare, or Romney care, they'd be 100% on-board.

It is impossible to overstate just how fundamentally wrong this sentence makes their understanding of the 3 branches of gov and the separation of powers. Conflict IS the entire purpose.

At the very least, the prison's commander. I ended up in a unit under her command after that scandal, and it was a complete lack of trust in her commanding ability.

Officers should worry. Enlisted definitely need to worry since it's those military members that usually get the short end of the stick. See Abu Ghraib as exhibit 1.

The runup to November 2026 will tell the whole story. I'm still convinced that Trump will declare a state of emergency early in October, martial law in early November, and order active duty troops to the streets. How milliary brass and Congress react will write the American history going forward.

The NYT seems to be going completely in the other direction. Their headlines in the past couple of weeks suggest that the bosses decided to let the events speak for themselves instead of writing in a manner to let the readers process the info and figure it out.

It's only been 15 years since democrats had a congressional super majority. I don't think it can be achieved in this political climate, but I'll be damned if Republicans aren't trying their best to make it happen.
