Loved seeing that amazing unique find of the beautiful bone box on tonight's #diggingforbritain

Asked Eddie if he wanted to sit closer to get stroked...his answer.

On a rare occasion Eddie jumps up on the shelves above the telly. I never know why, or what he expects to find up there. It's not the easiest jump for my older boy, so I like when he does it.

Eddie recovering from another big fight last night. He came in 3amish, covered in mud, & a wound on his neck scruff. Able to clean that, but he then had one of his rare asthma type attacks. Gave up cleaning mud off as it irritated him. He's still a bit out of sorts. Damn fights!

Very snowy, Bole Hill Road in Walkley. Even town had snow, on the most slippery surfaces known to man that Sheffield has decided to pave itself with. Ideal for a wet, hilly town.

Goodbye to the xmas decorations today and back at work tomorrow. It's been a lovely time off (whilst ignoring the state of this country and the world). Back to reality.

I went to three Christmas Nine Lessons services this year, and in two of them was lucky enough to be sat very near to someone who could sing the descant. Wonderful. Sheffield Cathedral was the last one.

Xmas decs up at last. There is more tinsel around but more out of reach of certain members of the household who will try and nibble it.

Eddie is "helping" me make my Christmas cards. If helping meant placing his whole body over the things I'm trying to use.

Cute but deadly. In his "yes you may want to risk stroking me cos I look super cute, but I'm heading into 'nighttime Eddie mode' phase".

Glasgow is such a great city. Obviously I love Sheffield (home) but how much better the city centre would be if we hadn't had the abomination of Meadowhall created. Didn't see all the xmas lights but this reindeer was quite spectacular.

Eddie seeing if he can find the RSPCA's number as he has both had a small head wound cleaned and some belly support stuff forced on him this evening. A terrible time according to Eddie.

A Victoria postbox that was made in my first home town of Dudley. Outside King's College Cambridge #postboxsaturday

Well, Eddie has just spent around 10 mins giving all the signs of chucking up, and got off lap I thought to do the deed. But nope, nothing out. I look forward to a revisit in the middle of the night, or some point over next few days. Something to look forward to.

Another glorious sunset in Sheffield (sadly I still can't take a picture of it on my phone without it looking orange but it was wonderfully pink).

Playground of Sound at Cole Brothers (former John Lewis), part of the Sensoria festival in Sheffield is great fun, on until Sunday. You get to play with this and other sound things. www.sensoria.org.uk/events/playg...

I obey.

Eddie has me well trained. He sits here when he wants me to play with him with a leaf.

And Coxwold was very pretty with a beautiful church, St Michael's. A quick look at Helmsley Castle. Juvenilely amused by the statute and its toned arse.

Another gorgeous day for more seeing stuff. Byland Abbey. Must have been an amazing rose window. Good to see and hear buzzards, not so good seeing/hearing fighter jets (always makes you realise how terrifying these must be, hearing them before they attack).

Tis the season to unexpectedly come across gigantic beasts in your house and let out a yelp of horror.

Glorious sunshine for a visit to Easby Abbey and Richmond Castle, both great to see.
September 23, 2025 at 9:12 PM
Those folded over paws! Cute but deadly, as we're very much entering into "nighttime Eddie" mode, when he was much more feisty.
September 19, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Eddie once again "helping" with making the bed.
