I think enough good people in this country love the sport enough to want to claim their space inside it and change the culture for the better. I’m well aware of the horrors of hockey culture and Hockey Canada. Clearly there is an appetite to improve things, and I think that’s a good thing.

It is because of football. There’s always more games on Fridays and Saturdays. There are games on Sundays, especially this season as it’s condensed due to the Olympic break, but the NHL does typically cater their schedule around the NFL

These people have no idea how deeply fucked up hockey culture is. Like everything regarding sexuality, gender, power and control, consent, intimacy, etc is so twisted and deeply ingrained in these players from an extremely young age. They honestly remind me a lot of Mormons & Mormon culture.
